Overcoming Writers Block!
Oh my God! I wrote something!
For over a year now (not counting what I've had to write fictionally for university), I've struggled to work on my new book, but, by some miracle, whilst reading Dickens' Great Expectations, I got the inspiration to start writing again!
I've been sat here for over an hour now, at my little white corner desk, with my yellow-hue lamp and can of zero sugar Fanta (tastes like shit BTW), writing my little heart out. It feels SO GOOD to be able to write for myself and not have any kind of deadline ahead of me! To be able to open your heart and mind, and create a world full of characters and coincidences. To create a world where you're God! Where you control what happens and nobody can stop you! Where you can live out your wildest fantasies and bring your dreams to life through your characters! This is what I've missed! This freedom to write what you want without any restrictions or repercussions. The simple joy of knowing that you're creating something you hope will reach other people one day. Something others will be able to get lost in. A world in where they can escape reality, and enter a world so different from their own that they find peace in those simple black L E T T E R S on a page.
I'm sure it won't last long, this burst of creativity, it never does. It always comes late at night, and disappears into the dark once I close my eyes. But its okay! It will come again! (Just give it another year or so! ha ha)
